Ive just set up my new psre413 keyboard to use with the xtractor utility and am not getting anything showing up in the analysis. It is recognising my key strkes though. Ive set up with the usb cable direct to the pc as there is no midi in or out (which surprised me) Do i need to get an interface? if so which one is recommended or are my settings wrong??d'oh!
Thanks

Hi Jay,

Thanks for your post.

The good news is that you do not need a MIDI interface., The USB cable will handle all that. You just need to make sure that with the cable connected to the PC that the PC will recognise the keyboard, and for that you need to install the drivers from the disk that came with your keyboard.

So, once you have installed the drivers for the PSR413, you will be able to see, in Xtractor, which in and out to select, by opening the SET UP dialgue box.

Just have a quick look at this video.

I think the device is called Yamaha USB, but you will see it when you open the set up dialogue box.

Simply select MIDI in and MIDI out as your Yamaha USB and then when you hit the record button you will hear the sound come through your keyboard and you can record into the Xtractor. When finished, hit the A button and you will see your Analysis.

Please let me know if you need anything, we will get you up and running ASAP.

Hi Jay,

Let's see if we can diagnose.

1. Have you installed the latest Xtractor X5?

2. When you listen back to your recording, can you hear it? You can mute other tracks, or reduce their volume so you can be sure you can hear the performance?

3. When you play the keyboard does the LED on the Your Performance light up?

Cheers,

Brian
